Developed and tested by the guides and mushers behind Fjällräven’s annual cross-Arctic expedition, Polar, the aptly named Polar Guide Parka is an insulated, high-length jacket built to do battle with some of the most adverse weather conditions. We’re highlighting it because of this fact, and because soon enough it’s going to feel like the arctic here in NYC, and it already does in many other places around the Northern Hemisphere.
Reinforced patches of proprietary G-1000 fabric are featured on areas that weather tends to treat with a particular harshness—the shoulders, hood, pockets and sleeves—while other highly considered details keep the elements out with other design tweaks. Further features include an adjustable storm hood with removable fur, two-way front zipper with protective flap, Supreme Microsoft insulation, plenty of pockets on outside and in (including a fleece-lined front hand warming pockets) and a drawcord adjustment at the waist and hem to ensure a cozy fit.
